After failing to find ice cream perfection we decided to give it a go ouselves... and Westonbirt ice cream was born. Many flavours were tried and tested, most were successful (gooseberry and elderflower, blackcurrant and prune and armagnac to name a few) some weren't (most notably liuorice and rice pudding), but all in all everyone loved it and wanted to buy it.
The secret to Westonbirt ice cream's success was down to the simplicity of the recipes......Every flavour is made with a base of just 4 ingredients; milk and cream from happy cows, egg yolks from free range chickens and a little sugar. Then the purest natural ingredients possible are added, produced as close to our kitchen as we can find them........ and lots of it!
All these vanilla pods go into 1 batch, and our fruity ice creams are made with upto 40% fresh locally grown fruit. We're passionate about making our ice cream as tasty as possible so no skimping on the good stuff!
